The Right Way to Pack

Packing can become tiring and at times you can feel like giving up. If you follow these tips, you will be thankful in the end!

The Heavier the Item, the Smaller the Box

Don’t struggle with huge boxes filled with your heaviest items. If you are packing books or any other weighty items, put them in a box that is easier for you carry. Lugging heavy items is hard enough, don’t make it even harder on yourself with a box that is bigger than a toddler.

Packing Paper, Bubble Wrap, and Blankets! Oh, My!

To make sure that your fragile items do not break on your move, cushion them within their boxes. Wrap anything that is fragile in packing paper, blankets, or bubble wrap so that there is no chance of them breaking. Use as much as you want; it could never hurt!

Now or Later

Seperate items that you will need right away from rest of your possessions. Don’t forget to pack an overnight bag so that you do not have to go searching through boxes before start unpacking. The same also goes for anything you will need as soon as you get into the new house, such as toilet paper, sheets, cleaning products, and shower products!

The Naming of the Boxes

Label everything! If you think that you’ve labeled enough, then label some more. An easy labeling tip is to create a number system. You can give a box designated number and write down on a separate list what is in the box and where everything belongs. Once you have moved, if you are looking for something specific, you do not need to search through many different boxes to find it. You can easily look at your list and save yourself the hassle of ripping through boxes.
